Aaron Sanchez Named APBA Rider of the Week
This week the APBA named Aaron Sanchez the first Rider of the Week for the 2009 race season. Aaron was named Ironman in the Mark Hahn 300 Memorial and has followed up the victory with a stellar start to the 2009 race season. Aaron won the Vet Ski Open Class and placed second in the Amateur Ski Open Class in Region 1 second round in Lake Elsinore, CA. Aaron has been racing since 1991 and expects 2009 to be a great year.
“I’d like to take a second to thank the core of people that pitch in to make it all happen: Since the very beginning the boys at BCW Performance in Long Beach, CA have been on my side wrenching on my 440 super and 550 mod, 650 squarenose, 701 roundnose, 760 roundnose, and now the # 31 SXR. Muchas gracias to Spanky, Jason Vogeli, Rick Sowma, Brian Vogeli, Ben Delatore and Alex Lee – BCW for life! In the last few years of riding with the Kanamoris things have really shaped up and I’d like to acknowledge and thank both Minoru and Emi for showing me how to ride hard with a champion’s mindset no matter what. Plus Kfactor’s boat set up tips have been invaluable and has kept me on the water every weekend grabbing handfulls of throttle. The entire Granada Gang / Team ASAP Racing Crue : Sims Family, Kanamoris, BCW Gang, Fast Phil, Kawi Tony, Koji Ito, Jack, Jonny Custom, Quemada Family, Robby Thill, and the rest of the hardcores that get it on in my favorite waters on the planet – the LBC. Last but certainly not least, Lisa Price has been key in getting me to rise up and challenge myself to kick some butt. I can’t list the ways, so I’ll just say thank you.”
The PWC Race Show congratulates Aaron on his amazing accomplishments and wishes him continued success in the 2009 race season.
