New Race Promoter Has The Winning Formula
New race promoter H2X Tour, formerly Hot Water Tour, has a new winning formula for race promotion and introducing new riders to the sport. In an April 10 press release, H2X Tour announced that all events will be a three day format with endurance racing and a Beginner Race School on Fridays.
Endurance racing has only been offered by a limited number of promoter and usually was not offered during closed course race events. An endurance race held prior to the weekend’s closed course racing is an excellent opportunity to learn the course and get in some extended practice as well as expose closed course racers to endurance racing. The races will range from a 45 minute plus one lap race for Pro-AM Open class to a 30 minute plus one lap for Pro-Am Stock and Novice Stock classes.
Perhaps the most exciting thing this forward thinking promoter is doing for the sport is the Beginner Race School being held Fridays prior to the weekend’s racing. The three hour school will cover how to set up your ski, register for races, pre and post race procedures, core strengthening exercises, ski maintenance, basic and advanced riding techniques, and starting and timing techniques. The classes will be taught by multi-time APBA National Champion and Pro Racer Rob Greenwald. Rob has taught race schools for several years and has privately instructed many successful racers. The race school will also offer each beginner the opportunity to race against the clock with the fastest beginner receiving prizes, a set of Hydro Turf Moto mats for their ski and a trophy. I don’t think any new racer could ask for a more exciting introduction to the sport.
The H2X Tour will also offer helmet and goggle rental further encouraging new racers by lowering the initial costs of racing. First time racers will also receive a coupon sheet good for discounts on race related products.
